Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy (otherwise known as endodontic treatment) is a procedure used to remove inflamed or infected pulp tissue from the inside of your tooth, which is then filled, sealed and restored with a crown for protection.
This procedure is the absolute best way to save a dying tooth that would otherwise need to be removed — something that would negatively affect the rest of your teeth.
Some signs that you may need root canal therapy:
- Serious tooth pain when putting pressure on the area
- High sensitivity to hot and cold
- Small pimple-like bump on the gums near the pained area
- Darkening of the tooth
- Tenderness or swelling of the gums near the pained area
